Persuasion is the story of Anne Elliot who was once proposed to by a young navel officer named Frederick Wentworth. Her family did not approve of the match because he was poor. Several years later, Anne has no further prospects and is resigned to a life with her horrible family when the now successful Wentworth comes back into her life.
In "Persuasion," Anne's noble family has persuaded her to break off an engagement with the poor Frederick, who later returns an illustrious and wealthy captain, reopening their romance.
