You want to track the faucet as far into or under the house as you can to where it branches off from the rest of the water supply. Once you find this turn the water to the house off cut the pipe and cap it at that point. From there just remove the old piping.

The faucet will probably be screwed to the building it is attached to. remove these screws, then the faucet should unscrew from pipe. May need pipe wrench.

Turn off the valve inside the building which controls the hose. Cut and properly cap the line inside the building. This is in case the valve leaks. Remove the outside faucet and pipe. Properly seal the hole going through the building to keep out water and insects. Observe the capped line for leaks.

First turn off the water going to the faucet. This is in the house. Next take a wrench and turn the faucet off from the pipe, then put a new faucet on, go into the house and turn the water back on. If it leaks, start all over again and be sure there is a washer in the faucet.

You must first locate the water shut off valve to ensure that the water source to your exterior faucet is shut off completely. You may then proceed to begin dismantling the faucet with a pipe wrench by turning the pipe wrench clockwise rather than counter clockwise as water faucets are installed this way.

Most importantly, first remember to turn off the water supply to the faucet. You will need a wrench and some teflon tape for a good seal.

First you will need to locate the shutoff and turn it off. Drain it by opening the faucet. Go back inside and cut the line and remove it.
