What is an effective response to the "silent treatment?"

If somebody is giving you the "silent treatment," I would let them be. This is not an effective way of communication, and I wouldn't give them the satisfaction, or attention they are probably seeking from you.

Having their silent treatment ignored, so you essentially are not paying them more attention, will sometimes get them to abandon their plan. They do it to get more attention from you, but when you stop paying it to them, they tend to want it more and will try another way to get it.

Effective response to the silent treatment would be to ignore that relation in the daily routine then he or she would realise the mistake.
