Visit a website today and the content you seek might be temporarily covered up by a large, floating "takeover ad. " As it continues to hover over the webpage, and move as you try to see around it, audio may also play. Many people find this distracting and intrusive. Look for "CLOSE X" to get rid of them.

It's a type of ad on the internet. It "takes over" the screen and the visitor has to close out the ad to return to looking at the content on the page.

Take over ads usually are comprised of video or images that take over the entire screen to display the advertisement. Upon closing the ad, the user can return to checking out the regular content on the site.

Take over ad units get their name because in a sense, they "take over" the internet page that the visitor was looking at. Typically, the visitor has to "x" out to resume surfing that site.

A take over ad is an ad that has been linked with several keywords that will help you remember the ad. An good example of this is Mcdonald's and their famous "I'm loving it"
