This is a network that some homes and offices use as a central connection point which is considered as hub or oftentimes a switch. This is a good option for computers, if there is a problem with cable that has failed, and may affect one computer instead of entire network.

It's pretty much going to look the way it sounds, like a star. Basically your hub or router will be placed somewhere in the center of the room, and each connecting PC will be formed in sort of a circle around the hub with a separate network cable leading to each PC.

A star network topology is the simplest and most common type of network topology. It consists of a central node (such as a switch or a hub) in the centre and a number of clients (such as computers) all directly connected to the central node. All traffic in a star topology must travel trhough the central node.
