New York University's Tisch School of Arts is a good place for singers, actors, dancers, etc to go to. A lot of artists attend NYU. They have a good arts program there and are well known.

Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California has excellent programs for vocal development. They offer fincial aid assistance and have an informative website. If you're looking for a bigger name that has a heft price tag, California Institute of the Arts, located in Valencia, California, is one of the best fine arts schools.

The National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) has 630 member schools that have programs in voice including conservatories, colleges and universities. Your best bet is to go to the NASM website and check out the affiliates.

There are a multitude of good music schools out there, as well as regular schools that have good performing arts departments. If you are looking for schools in the US, consider a school in a city with a strong art scene--New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles are options.

Most colleges offer performing arts degrees which would include music and theater study. You may try a few classes at a local community college to get started, then transfer to a state university or larger private campus. The larger colleges and universities would naturally offer more chances to perform, and you would gain more exposure and experience.

Many great performance programs are around the country. Some public schools are Indiana University and University of North Texas. Some private schools are Julliard, Eastman, and Manhattan School of Music. If you study under someone, he/she might have a good place in mind where you might fit in.

The best place for a musical education is a conservatory. Any of the Big 10 schools are also good choices. The most important thing is choosing a good teacher, though.
