A few things I have personally tried are boiling water, round up, fire, and salt. By far salt is the best way to kill grass. But be warned salt will cause the soil to be infertile.

If you want to stay non toxic and natural, a way to kill grass would be to cover with plastic. This suffocates the roots. Wet newspaper wors as well.

You can over fertilize it, which will burn it and kill it. Also, if you live in a hot section, just don't water it for about a week and it will definitely die. If you have a rototiller, you can churn it up and that will kill it too.

I think a fast way to kill grass is to simply stop watering it, and litter it with poisons that would inhibit growth.
