The form needed to prepare a C-Corp Tax Return is Form 1120, U.S. Corporate Income Tax Return. This form is five pages long and encompasses the company's income, deductions, balance sheet and book to tax differences. If the corporation has capital gains or losses, Schedule D would also be required.

The basic tax form is the 1120. This form contains several schedules. In addition, schedules D (gains) and M-3 (partnership) might also be needed.

The IRS changes regulations every year. The requirements for reporting and forms as it stands at this writing will not be current in six months. Get professional advice.

A c-corp is required to pay both federal and state taxes. Therefore, IRS form 1120 must be filed for federal taxes. The requisite state form (form number varies among states) will have to be filed as well.

The first important one is the 1120 (not an 1120 S which would be for an S Corporation) - It is four pages long. From there, there may be extra tax forms required dependent on your unique tax position.

C corporations must file Form 1120 to declare income. This form is due April 15 unless an extension is granted. They may file Form 7004 by March 15 to receive a 6 month extension. Both forms and their instructions are available on the IRS website, or you can request the IRS to send them to you by mail.
