It could be a number of things. And, it's possible that you notice it more at night because this is when you have more attention to give it. Yeast infection, vulvar dermatitis, vulvar dermatoses, vaginal surgery and trichomoniasis. Scabies does cause intense itching which often becomes worse at night. Look for small red bumps or lines.

There are many things that could cause these symptoms such as a urinary tract infection, a yeast infection, or a number of different STDs. With such broad symptoms the best advice is to visit a doctor where they can identify the problem and prescribe a treatment.

The excessive itching is probably due to a yeast infection. Using soaps in the vaginal area is not good. It washes away your bodies natural ability to keep your hormones balanced. Also taking antibiotics can cause yeast infection. Eating yogurt will help to keep you balanced or a prescription drug.

this answer is wrong and misleading. *Eating* yogurt does nothing to balance your "hormones." don't listen to random advice on the internet. this person should have said, "SEE a doctor to get a correct diagnosis!" Please. Don't end up making your situation worse. See a doctor!  add a comment

The irritation you feel is most likely due to a yeast infection, it is important that you consult with your doctor who can do a culture and prescribe a cure.

This could simply be a yeast infection, especially if there is a white discharge. But it also might be a type of STD, so you may want to get it checked.

You probably have an yeast infection or possibly a UTI. YOu can go to your local supermarket and get over the counter medication to help both issues.

Please, see a doctor. You can't trust these answers. You have no idea who the respondents are, so why would you trust them? See a doctor, get the right diagnosis, and the right treatment. Otherwise, you could make your situation a lot worse.
