What color should I paint my kitchen?

I have a friend who just painted their kitchen red. They painted the main part white and the trim red. There are alot of decorative red accessories.

My mom has a lemon yellow kitchen and everyone loves it. It gets good sun in the morning, anyway, and the yellow keeps it sunny all day. It is really yellow-- not buttercream or anything like that. Yellow. She accented it with black and chrome.
