If your turtles smell bad, you should check your tank. Is it dirty? You should change the water and completely clean the tank.

The turtles are stinking because of the ammonia the turtle is producing. You need to have a fliter that has carbon granules in it.

Make sure that you are changing the water in the tank for the turtle regularly and not providing too much food. If there's too much, the turtle won't eat it and it'll rot making the water and everything in it stink.

Good water. "Good water" is a BIG tank, at least 10 gallons of actual water per inch of shell length. It is warm (75-80F), and clean.
