You should check if the power supply and the plug-in port are okay. If they are, you might try another TV provider or some external device, for example - a DVD player.

First check your cords to your cable box. If they check out then check your plug and where ever you have the television plugged in. If that checks out then you may need to check out how the television is functioning within the set, time to get a man in.

When you see wavy lines with different colours like red, violet, green, then it could be a ''high voltage'' problem. There are some replaceable components but the cost may exceed what a new set would cost. It's also a little more dangerous for the average person to fix it and should be left up to a professional.

The first thing to do is check your connections. Make sure all the cables are tight. If using an antenna, check the direction to ensure it's in the right position.
