A metallic taste is not uncommon. It can be due to medication, especially vitamins, blood pressure medicine and anti-depressants, or oral infections. It may not be possible to identify the cause. Most episodes of a metallic taste resolve rather quickly and are rarely the sign of a greater problem.

You should first ask yourself what medications you are taking. There are some medications, such as Dacarbazine, Calcijex, or Calcitriol, which have a side effect of having metallic taste in your mouth. It is also possible that you have lead poisoning, some kind of chemical poisoning,an insect allergy, or metal fume fever.

It could be a side effect of a medication you are taking. It could also be a sign of a sickness.
