The following are properties of the mineral graphite: Graphite is composed entirely of the element Carbon. It is black and colour and is soft (has a hardness of 1-2 out of 10). It forms in hexagonal shapes, and is opaque. It has a greasy feel when touched, and conducts electricity well.
