What are the functions of "good" bacteria in the body?

Good bacteria or "normal flora" provide the body with protection from "bad bacteria". They manage to benefit the body this way because they take up most of the space on the body that bacteria can grow, meaning that the bad bacteria does not have the appropriate space to flourish and cause problems.

The good bacteria produce enzymes to aid in digestion . Keep harmful bacteria away by competeing for nutrients and help keep eyelashes clean and hold them in place.
