Hatha, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Kundalini, and Bikram, are just a few of the many types of Yoga that is offered. Each one varies in different ways, from breathing techniques to positions, and physical movements.
It can be divided into flow yoga, karma yoga, restoration yoga, bikram yoga and raja yoga.They are suitable for different people, some for women, some for children, some for old people. These yogas also have different emphasis and fuctions.
Yoga is to go near the God. There four types of yogas. Bhakti yoga, Gnana yoga, Karma yoga and Raja Yoga. These ways to realize you true self; Bhakti is throgh devotion, Gnana is through knowledge and discrimination, Karma is through work and Raja is through exercises, food etc.
Hatha yoga is simple exercises with gentle movements and is relaxing. The movements of ashtanga and power yoga are fast, remove poison and builds stamina. B.K.S.Iyengar's yoga technique makes a person hold his position, prevents injury and is most beneficial. Kundalini yoga encourages one to use physical exercise with breathing control.
