In most cases school uniforms can be incredibly cheap as they usually entail a specific color of slacks paired with a specific color of collared shirt. Most uniforms cost as little as $20-$40 a piece and can be washed, etc., throughout the week easily. Often times uniforms do not really save money as much as it is claimed.

It depends on the school and the uniform. A less strict uniform, such as slacks and a specific color polo shirt, are readily available at Wal-Mart or even Goodwill. A strict uniform may need to be ordered from the school itself, though many such schools subsidize the cost so families requiring aid can still afford the cost.
