The biggest advantage to outsourcing typing jobs is the cost savings that the company will incure. These jobs can be done by a less qualified employee allowing your more expensive personal to use thier skills in a more cost effective endeavor.

Business's outsource their typing jobs, as well as any other outsourced job to cut down on costs brought on from wages and benefits. Basically, if a person in India or Mexico will do the same job for half the salary (or less sometimes), then why would a business-not do it?

The minimum wage in developed countries is higher than the daily wage in many outsourced countries. And typing work, such as transcription, can be done by anyone, anywhere.

Outsourced work can often be outsourced to areas with much lower wages. Whether done by someone working for minimum wage in the US (versus $10 secretarial rates) for 20 cents an hour in India, the labor cost is much lower. And some outsourcing done around the world means it can be done overnight from the customer's perspective.
