Most people with gallbladder disease feel a type of intermittent pain called "biliary colic," which is a steady gripping or gnawing pain in the upper right abdomen near the rib cage. More severe gallbladder problems cause constant abdominal pain, jaundice, gas, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, dark urine, and rapid heartbeat.

If you experience a sharp, excruciating pain under your right rib cage, then you could be experiencing a gall bladder attack. The pain can be so severe that it makes you feel nauseous. You can be feverish and the color of your stool will change to a very light shade. Avoid fatty foods.

There is pain under the rib cage on the right side and between the shoulder blades. There is indigestion after eating followed by nausea, dizziness, bloating, and gas. Constipation is one of the most missed symptoms in a gall bladder attack. Frequent use of laxatives is an indication of gall bladder problem. Attacks usually occur at night or after overeating.
