Fentanyl withdrawal symptoms can be severe in nature. Withdrawal symptoms include anxiety, muscle and joint aches, diarrhea, rapid heart beat or breathing, fever, tearing of the eyes, runny nose, chills, sweats, anorexia, nausea, vomitting, nervousness, irritability, shivering, stomach cramps, insomnia and general weakness. Due to the severity of the symptoms, Fentanyl use should be gradually tapered and not abruptly stopped.

I am going to start tapering in a few weeks. My doctor told me that my fentanyl is not doing me much good so he is going to take me off slowly. He is going to increase my Percocet to ease my discomfort.
