demodectic mange is treated by shapoos or antibiotics if the infection is more severe. Sarcoptic mange is far more contagious and needs the dog to go in quarantaine and it is treated by either Sulfurated lime, Selamectin (only on doctors subscription and in some countries) or by ivermectin, but that's illegal on some collie-like herding dogs.

Depending on what type of mange the animal has some cures are in the form of ear drops, ointments, shampoos or injections, its best to check with your vet to see what type of mange your pet has and to see if its contagious.

Mange is a fungus that attacks the skin and hair of an animal. The only way to fix this is to improve diet and treat with medication.
