Should I get caps on my toddler's teeth?

Consult your dentist, but no. If their teeth are still their baby teeth, they will lose them anyway. It's best to do any treatment once they have their adult teeth.

It is not necessary to put a cap on a toddler's teeth. Reason being that these are milk teeth that will shed off. But if the teeth is badly damaged and needs treatment a root canal can be done. In some cases if extraction is done as the teeth cannot be saved we can go for a space maintainer.

Toddler's teeth are not permanent and do not need caps. Proper cleaning and flossing and regular checks at the dentist should protect them until their adult teeth come in.

crowns/caps can be done on deciduous tooth also called as milk tooth,the criteria to do such a procedure is in response to any carious involvement of the tooth where in the visible crown structure is damaged. in such cases a paediatric dentist will place crowns or caps made of stainless steel which are prefabricated(unlike adults which are custom made)

Why would you go to the expense of getting caps on toddler's teeth when they are going to fall out and new teeth will grow in. If your dentist thinks something should be done, talk it over with him but caps are not the solution.

no, unless it is a front tooth and cosmetic issues are involved, since capping in expensive and the teeth of a toddler will eventualy fall out
