Generally speaking the ceremony is not what makes a marriage valid, but you should probably do a quick Google search to make absolutely sure. Sometimes laws vary by city as well as by state. In some states, a common law marriage becomes valid simply because two people have lived together for 5-6 years.

Yes - it's the license that makes the marriage, not the ceremony. However, some religions may require a ceremony for the marriage to be valid in the religion's eyes.

Yes, a marriage license is valid without a ceremonoy in Arkansas. Arkansas is a convenant marriage option state and does not required that a ceremony take place.

It depends on what you mean by a "ceremony. " You don't have to have a typical wedding with a minister in a church. You can go to any county courthouse and get married by a Justice of the Peace.
