We can't address prognosis at this point we need to speak of diagnosis. A spot on the lung doesn't necessarily mean cancer. If it does, this does not mean the end, FAR from it! Should it be cancer, there are excellent treatment options, let's not put the cart before the horse. You need further tests, this could be just-a spot.

Most people think cancer when they hear about a spot on their lungs. A lot of times they do not have cancer. Once a spot is detected you do need a series of test to check for the correct prognosis. One of the first check is with x-rays. A quick prognosis can be checked here.

The prognosis could be good or bad. It could be a scar from a previous pneumonia. Or it could be the start of cancer. Or a bad x-ray.

I don't think there's a standard normal prognosis when a spot on the lung is detected as it could be anything from an anomaly on the film to a malignant tumor. I guess a normal prognosis would be that you will be scheduled to have further testing done to determine your condition.
