If my 4 year olds front tooth was knocked out can a temporary tooth be installed for spacing issues?

Yes. Your dentist may choose to create a bridge between your child's existing teeth to fill the gap with the missing tooth. However, keep in mind as your child's mouth continues to grow, the bridge could effect that growth. A removable device device may work fine. A very unlikely alternative would be to place an implant in your child's mouth.

Unless your dentist thinks it really needs to be done they usually do not put anything in. The adult teeth will come in the same as they would if the tooth was there. The baby teeth will not move into the way of the adult teeth. They all should come in just fine.

It should be okay to leave, depending on which tooth it is. At four, the child's adult teeth should come in within a couple of years anyway.

You have absolutely nothing to worry about. A dentist would not recommend a temporary tooth as that would cause more problems than solve. A permanent tooth will grow into place in its own time, and all should be fine. My son lost his after a fall without any problems.
