This is going to sound obvious, but you need to PAY YOUR BILL EVERY MONTH AND ON TIME!! The only reason why cars are repossessed is because someone isn't paying.

You can refinance or you can try to strike a deal with the lien holder to rewrite your contract to adjust you payments to include the amount that you owe.

Most banks do not want to reposses a vehicle because they lose money in trying to resell the vehicle. If you contact the collections agency or department, most times they are willing to make a work out plan to catch you up.

In order to avoid car repossession you will need to make your payments on time and not let them get behind. If you are having finanical problems you need to contact the financial institute and see if they would be willing to work with you.
