On a pick-up truck: Locate the fill plug. It will be either and inverted 3/8" square (to fit an extension to a ratchet), a square or hexagonal nut or, on most Dodges, a rubber plug. Fill the differential until fluid starts to pour out. Look for leaks while down there.

Add the differential fluid by checking the differential dipsticks. Take out the funnel and check the levels of the fluid... add more..after filling of the differential fluid... change the dipsticks...

Locate the front gear differential dipstick on your car's engine and check to make sure it's low. Place a funnel into the hole, pour in the fluid slowly. Check the fluid level after every half pint added until you reach a satisfactory fluid level. Replace the dipstick once the level is at the point it should be.

There are two plugs mounted on the differential, one at the bottom and one a little more than half way up on the housing. The bottom plug is used to drain the used fluid and the top one is for adding fluid to the differential. Sometimes there won't be a bottom plug especially on GM vehicles, for some reason.
