A dose of 500 mg daily is sometimes used as headache prevention. Injectable magnesium has been effective in some people suffer migraines. Mg is not a prn pain reliever.

RDA value of magnesium is 400mg but 75% of population fails to manage the intake or the loss exceeds the balance.Magnesium is basically prescribed for migraine. Magnesium gluconate is the most potent form. 2 tablets with 3 main meals of the day does wonders but it should not be taken without consulting your doctor whatsoever.

Your headache, especially if a migraine could be secondary to magnesium deficiency. Check with your doctor first, but you can take 2 tabs of 500 mg. three times a day

It is not advisable to take tablets as you like for any reason.Because it may be a symptem for major problem.You can take 0.05mg magnesium for headach.
