The nail technician uses a tool to tap in liquid acrylic. Then she will allow it to dry and buff it out in order to blend it in with the rest of your nails.

As your acrylic or gel nails grow out, it naturally leaves a gap at the cutical. Therefor, you need to have that space filled in with more acrylic. The manicurist taps in liquid acrylic with a tool, allows it to dry and files it smooth to blend it in.

Backfilling is the process of drilling off the white part of the nail, and then reapplying the white polish to the nail. Since the gels are clear, it's not needed.

They take their powered nail file - grinder, and they grind back the clear part some of the way, and then they put more white in the empty space, then clean them all up and make them pretty again.
