How do you make a Jacob's ladder out of string?

Take to thin sticks and then take some twine or string, tie it to one stick then loop it around the other off centered then go to the other side a little higher cirlce around and bring to the other side. repeat till you get to the top of the sticks.

Make "Cat's whiskers", then hook your thumbs under the third string away from you. Hook your thumbs under the string second-closest to you. Hook the section of string that is close to your fingers. Drop the lower string off each thumb. Then insert your fingers through the gaps and pull.

I learned to make jacob's ladder from a Klutz book, String Games from Around the World. You start out with a standard opening, but from there the steps are hard to describe in text format. I suggest going to your local library and asking for eht book. It takes a while to learn, but is fun.
