How do you know if you have lost your mucus plug?

Generally, it is hard to miss. It will resemble a "glob" of thick, often times blood tinged mucous like material. It can fall into the toilet, or be present when wiping after using the restroom. Some women even say that it has fallen out when they just stand up.

Sometimes you will notice the plug. Most likely if you are in the shower or using the toilet. Most women never notice their mucus plug. A doctor can check to see if you have lost it.

The mucus plug is like the stopper in the bath tub. If you lose it you'll know. You'll start draining fluid just like the bathtub.

You'll see a chunk of mucus in the toilet, on the toilet paper when you wipe, or in your underwear. It may be clear, green, brown, or tinged with blood.
