How do you kill spider mites?

In order to kill spider mites anything you apply must touch the mites and will eliminate other insects, even the beneficial ones. Adding a few drops of Dawn dishwashing detergent to water and spraying on plants will eliminate mites as do products containing Neem Oil. Using insecticidal soaps will take care of the pests, also.

I take a spray bottle and put half water and half rubbing alcohol and spray the plants and it will the spider mites on contact. It dissipates so fast it won't harm the plant.

Neem tea will kill them and keep them from returning if used regularly. There are a few chemicals used to kill them as well; they'd be at your local nursery.
