Baby tears plants need only a small amount of soil. They can also grow under a few inches of water with high amounts of sunlight. Grow in an aquarium as a habitat for amphibians or in a shallow outdoor fountain. Add sand to potting soil to insure good drainage and to make sure the plant gets enought moisture

"Baby tears" grows best in a loose and very rich potting soil. The soil needs to be kept barely moist at all times, likes shade, must be protected from cold.
