How do you choose a reception hall?

Start by either looking online or in your local phonebook for "wedding reception sites" or "reception halls" etc. You may either call and ask for an appointment, or quickly stop in. Be sure to pay attention to space (will your guests fit comfortably?) and price (does the venue provide tables and chairs in the package?). Ask plenty of questions!

Think about how many people you are going to invite and what size you will need. Also think about location. Would it be easier to have it a hotel for your out of town guests or is everyone local? Also go and check them out to see which ones you like the most.
