How do I open a stuck doorknob?

If possible remove the screws and remove the actual doorknob from the door itself. If the frame allows it a shim can be used to release the locking pillar. If dealing with a bathroom lock a thin screw driver may be inserted to force the locking mechanism open. A last resort may require removal of door frame trim.

Insert a credit card between the door and the door frame depressing the pawl and allowing the door to open. Remove the doorknob and discard it. For once don't be a cheapskate and replace the doorknob with a new one.

You need to be very careful when you do this. Just as you have seen in movies like opening the door with a metal rope. U can either jam the door

You may need to unscrew the screws and take the door knob off and replace it with a new one. It should help possibly. Or you need to get some one in there to fix it.
