Hunter courses are designed with natural-colored jumps spaced out in multiples of twelve feet. Jumps more than 48 feet apart do not have to be measured. Twelve feet is the average stride length for many hunters, though they can make slight adjustments to come perfectly to a fence.

Design it based on the height that your horse can jump. Put a combination cross pole jumps and straight pole jumps. If you want you can do flower box jumps or even a small water jump. You can look online for course layout ideas if you need them.

The internet is a great way to design a jumping course. There has to be so many feet between each jump for the horse to be able to gather himself before the jump so he won't be injured.
