Poinsettia like cool temperatures (60-65F), high humidity, and bright, indirect sunlight. Do not allow your plant to stand in water as they like to dry out a little between waterings.

Poinsettas like humid weather with indirect bright sunlight. Misting your plant is recommended if humidity is low. Let soil dry out between waterings. Keep away from heaters or drafts.

These plants like to have their roots confined, so use a relatively small pot. They should be allowed to dry out between waterings. Remove wilted or yellowed leaves as theyr die off. Keep at a constant moderate temperature.

The best way to do it is to follow the tab that is in the pot with the plant. Or you should go talk to your local greenhouse they will be able to tell you how to keep it watered without over watering that is how most people lose their Poinsetta's.

Poinsettias need indirect sunlight, although they do best with bright light. You will need to be sure they do not get too warm in your house, however. If you keep yours in the basement, it will have the humidity and temperatures it needs. Just be sure it gets some light.

Make sure you do not water it to much that is how most people kille them and also they do not require as much light as most plants do if they get to much sun they will die.

Because it is actually a desert plant from South America and parts of Mexico, it does not need a lot of watering. It should have the dirt dry out a bit before you water it again. Feel the leaves to see if they are dry. It does not die unless its' environment is not good. Put in indirect sunlight.
