To look at a solar eclipse can be extremely dangerous. You are best off looking at it through a pair of highly polarized sunglasses. If you cannot obtain those, then go to your local eye doctor and ask for a pair of "disposable sunglasses. " They are free and will be sufficient to protect your vision.

good way to look at a solar eclipse is to use welders goggles for partial eclipses and it is safe to look at the sun during a total solar eclipse.
