How can I troubleshoot car audio problems?

To troubleshoot car audio you need to isolate the problem. For example, if there is no sound check the head unit first, then check the wires, and then the speakers and so on. Test each part separately, if possible with another working system.

If it as an after market radio the easiest way tho check the head unit is by checking the fuse if its factory equipment take it to a dealer.

Start by checking all wiring with a continuity tester, especially if you did it yourself. Remember that speakers are polarized. If your system requires amplification, be sure it is wired correctly. Blown fuses mean a short circuit. Dimming headlights means your alternator is not up to the job.

check to see if car stereo has power to it. also check to see if speakers are hooked up properly.
