How can I treat a bad eye infection in a cat?

The only way to really treat it is by appointment with a vet. There are several things that could be causing it and you wont know specifics until you go.

Often the best course of treatment is oral antibiotics and eye ointment. Your vet can prescribe the oral antibiotic and might also prescribe an antibiotic cream. If he doesn't prescribe an ointment you can usually get one over the counter.

Take your cat to the vet. She will give you an antibiotic to put in the eye and if the cornea is scratched, a painkiller. Eye infections can be extremely painful in the cat and need to be treated as soon as possible as blindness may result. If not treated, sometimes the eye needs to be removed.

well you can try bathing your cat with salt and water and you should uses some ointment on your cat and L-Lysine you can buy it yourself it worked for my cat but you should go to a vet just in case. hope your cat gets well
