How can I test it if I think my fuel gauge is not working?

You could fill the tank all the way and see if it registers as full. Then watch to see if it goes down as you accumulate miles.

i would put about five dollars in your tank and check the mileage and see if your gauge moves at all.

To test if your fuel gauge is working, drive the car until it is almost empty. Then fill it up all the way and see if the gauge changes.

Look up mile per gallon, then multiple miles per gallon and number of gallons, this equals miles till empty. Fill up and reset trip-o-meter, then watch fuel gauge.
