How can I temporarily cement loose crowns?

I have a loose crown but cannot get to the dentist for quite a while.

The quickest way to do this is to use an over-the-counter product for securing dentures - like a tube cream. Of course, that will only last ten to twelve hours then you would have to reapply. Another way is to purchase a two-part adhesive for crowns; however the mixing and application process can be quite complex.

Some drug stores sell temporary cement kits. This can work as a temporary fix only. Your dentist must use stronger cement to put the crown back on.

You can buy a little kit inexpensively at any drug store to cement the crown in temporarily until you can see the dentist.

There are several over-the-counter products made for this. Your dentist may be willing to temporarily reseat the crown for little or no cost until you can have it properly repaired.

Please contanct your dentist as soon as possible. A dentist needs to fix this problem so that you will not get an infection. Do not use super glue!
