You can rehydrate a dried out cigar by placing it in a humidor, since a humidor is specifically made to maintain humidity and therefore the hydration of a cigar.

One good method of restoring moisture to cigars is to seal the dried out cigar in a plastic or otherwise waterproof container with a piece or two of fresh moist fruit. The humidity of the fruit will gradually migrate into the cigar. The type of fruit you choose can affect the flavor. Apple is a popular choice.

You rehydrate a cigar by using a plastic dish with a lid and flat bottom, place a little water in the bottom alony with cedar chips, and place the cigar on top of the chips. Do not let the water touch the cigar, or he cigar will be no good.

My father used to keep a slice of apple in the bag with his cigarette tobacco to keep it moist and to flavor it. That would probably work for your cigar.

A cigar that has dried out must be stored in an environment with the proper humidity. The best way to do this would be to store the cigar in one of the commercially available cigar humidors.

In a pinch I have wrapped it in a moist (not wet) papertowel and thrown it on defrost in the microwave. poor results but better than 100% dead.
