You build a shelving unit in the area you are going to grow flowers. Plant the seeds in pots and place on the shelves. Put up lights in the area to act as the sun. You need to turn lights off at night so the plants think that their outside.

You can grow vegetables indoors with either a soil or a hydroponic system. Unless you have very nice windows, you will most likely need to get a high powered Compact Flourescent lamp or some sort of HID (either metal halide or high pressure soidum) lamp.

Growing vegetables indoors isn't much different than growing them outdoors the biggest difference is growing them indoors is more climate controlled which means you need to pay alot more attention to the amount of water they need compared to the amount of water they are given and do not forget they need alot of sunlight.

The best way to grow veggies indoors is an indoor lighting system. This will cost some money to set up but will be well worth it. You will need artificial light and a reflective source. You COULD just put them somewhere and cross your fingers but they wont produce much.
