How can I get better at active listening?

Active listening takes a little practice. Be sure to look the other person in the eyes while they talk; this way, you pay better attention. When they are finished, repeat back to them what they said. If you misunderstood something, then they can clarify what they were trying to communicate to you.

The only sure fire way is to practice. When you have conversations, listen to what the other person is saying and then respond and ask questions about the topic.

In order to improve with active listening, you should try to understand the speaker's point of veiw and be able to rephrase it back in your own words.
