No. I once did a study to see if tomato plants grew best with tap water or sugar water. The results were very contrasting, with water being the best solution over sugar water. I think it is probably because plants produce their own sugar during photosynthesis, called glucose.

Sugar water can help the plants to sprout. Also, plants that are wilted are sometimes helped with this mixture. Established plants can be harmed by this mixture. It can inhibit natural growth. It could cause root rot and/or fungus in the plant. It can stop the plant from producing its own sugar. The answer is no.

Yes, it can help, but to much sucrose can be very harmful. It is used as a carbon source for sprouting plants. Plants do not need sugar but the extra carbon source may help.

Sugar does help a flower grow, it adds carbon monoxide to the plant. But before adding sugar, check the amounts, based on the plant.
