Missouri replaced its inheritance tax with a state estate tax. The state inheritance tax is in addition to any federal inheritance taxes owed.

Missouri does not have an inheritence tax, but does have an estate tax that is applicable to the estates of Missouri residents as well as non-residents who own $10,000 or more worth of real proerty located in Missouri. The estate taxis to be remitted by the executor, based on the estate's value.
