Do Ivory soap bars really float?

Ivory soap does float. The maker, James M. Gamble said it was a mistake in production that made the soap float but years later they discovered that he made it that way on purpose. Today, they whip air into it to make it light and fluffy.

Yes, they do. Ivory bar soaps are known for floating. There are other brands out there that float as well.

Yes they do. It has to do with the way that the air bubbles react with it. The type of texture that it is holds a lot of extra air.
