Did Dr. Seuss ever win a Pulitzer Prize?

Yes, Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel) was awarded a special Pulitzer Prize back in 1984. In addition to receiving the prestigious Pulitzer, he also received three Caldecott Honor awards, two Academy awards, two Emmy awards, and a Peabody for his work. He was also the recipient of 6 honorary doctorates, one of which came from his alma mater, Dartmouth College.

I don't think so. The Pulitzers aren't awarded for children's literature. He might have been a better candidate for the Caldecott Medal for illustration, but I'm not sure he ever won that either.

Dr Seuss won the Pulitzer Prize for his children's writing in 1984, although he was also a political cartoonist, the prize was made for his popular children's books, such as 'The Cat in the Hat'.
