No you can not use laundry soap in a carpet cleaner. the laundry soap has chemical content and structure that is ideally suited for clothes and not carpet. also it could affect the quality of the carpet being cleaned.

I would not recommend using anything other than products made for the carpet cleaner. What may save you money at first, could end up costing you money multiplied.

Laundry soap will work fine in a carpet cleaner using very, very small amounts. Too much results in sudsy overload and more work to clean your mess up! OxyClean is an awesome cleaner you can use on your rugs with great results just as in laundry. It takes any odors out also, including pet odors.

Of course you can use laundry soap in a carpet cleaner. But I wouldn't. It would probably make too many bubbles.

I used it and it worked great. It didn't produce bubbles at all and my house smells great! We have a 6 month old puppy that isn't fully potty trained. None of the carpet cleaner got the smell of urine out so this was a better solution for us!
